The Accord Party in Ekiti State has reaffirmed its unwavering support for the presidential ambition of Dr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim ahead of the 2027 general election, describing him as the leader capable of steering Nigeria out of its current socio-economic and political challenges.
The declaration was made on Thursday during the party’s governorship rally in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, where party leaders, women groups, youth supporters, and grassroots members gathered to demonstrate solidarity with the Accord Party and its presidential candidate.
Speaking at the event, the Ekiti State Chairman of the Accord Party, Philip Adeniji, said the rally reflected the unity, strength, and readiness of party members to work for victory in future elections.
According to him, members of the party remain firmly committed to the candidacy of Olawepo-Hashim and are prepared to mobilise support for him across every community in the state.
“We are gathered here today to reaffirm our support for Dr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim as the Accord Party’s presidential candidate for the 2027 general election. He remains our candidate, and we are fully committed to working for his success at the polls,” Adeniji said.
The party chairman argued that Olawepo-Hashim possesses the leadership qualities, experience, and vision needed to address the nation’s challenges, insisting that Nigerians deserve a new direction.
He further criticized the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying many Nigerians are grappling with economic hardship and insecurity, which he described as evidence of failed governance.
“Dr. Gbenga Hashim has what it takes to rescue Nigeria from the hardship and governance failures being experienced under the current administration. We believe he offers a credible alternative for national development,” Adeniji added.
Also speaking at the rally, the Southwest Coordinator of the Gbenga Hashim Solidarity Movement, Alhaji Olaniru Abass, said the growing support for Olawepo-Hashim across the Southwest was a reflection of increasing public confidence in his leadership credentials.
He noted that the Accord Party presidential hopeful combines experience, competence, and national appeal, qualities he said are essential for effective leadership at a critical period in Nigeria’s history.
“Our presence here today demonstrates our collective resolve to support Gbenga Hashim’s presidential ambition. Many Nigerians are looking forward to a new chapter of leadership, and we believe he represents that opportunity,” Abass stated.
The Ekiti State Women Leader of the party, Funmilayo Adeyeye, also pledged the commitment of women across the state to grassroots mobilisation efforts in support of the presidential candidate.
She urged the national leadership of the Accord Party to continue strengthening structures across the country to enhance the campaign ahead of the 2027 elections.
Similarly, a party leader, Samuel Abiola, described Olawepo-Hashim’s emergence as a testament to the confidence members have in his leadership abilities and vision for a united, peaceful, and prosperous Nigeria.
The state campaign coordinator, Sunday Dada, maintained that the mandate given to Olawepo-Hashim by party members remains intact and cannot be compromised by any external political interests.
Throughout the rally, supporters displayed banners and placards bearing messages of support for the Accord Party presidential hopeful, while party faithful pledged to sustain mobilisation efforts as preparations for the 2027 general election gather momentum.
