The Association of Mobile Money and Bank Agents in Nigeria (AMMBAN) Osun State Chapter has felicitated with its members, leaders, partners, collaborators, critical stakeholders and the general public across the state on the celebration of the New Year 2024.
The association which is the umbrella body for all the Financial Inclusion and Digital Economy Service Operators in Nigeria popularly known as POS Operators lamented the experience of its members in the year 2023 regarding financial crisis associated with the Implementation of cashless policy and subsequent cash scarcity that nearly crippled the economy.
AMMBAN stated this in its 2024 new year message signed by the State Chairman, Comrade Badru Asimiyu and Secretary, Comrade Gbadebo Akanji which was made available to newsmen in Osogbo, Osun State Capital. The association called on the various stakeholders to give priority to collaborations and team work to achieve better and greater results maintaining that two heads are always better than one and dialogues are better than confrontations.
AMMBAN also appealed to all its members to always adhere to the codes of ethics and professionalism and to also observe the safety protocols in their business operations.
AMMBAN leadership in the state said it has lined up activities for the year 2024 which have been ratified at the Extended State Executive Council Meeting held on the 20th December, 2023 towards the greater good of the association and its members. AMMBAN urged all it’s teeming members to support the programs fully in order to benefit maximally from the various opportunities that would come up from its various strides and collaborations.
“Despite all the odds and challenges faced in year 2023, AMMBAN Osun State Chapter was able to record giant strides which include:
- Successful Conduct of Election in February
- Successful Transition of Leadership in March
- Embarked on Steps to Solidify Strategic Collaborations with Critical Stakeholders throughout the year which included CBN, NPF, DSS, NSCDC, Media Stations, Osun State Government, Banks, etc
- Prioritised Welfare of its Members especially on Issues with Security Agencies and Bank/Transaction Related Challenges.
- Successfully Prevented AMMBAN Members from Multiple Levies and Taxes
- Successfully influenced stoppage of Levies payment into unauthorized accounts. All thanks to action-packed Governor, His Excellency Senator Nurudeen Ademola Jackson Adeleke.
- Nigeria Police Force Osun Command presented Award of Honourary Recognition to AMMBAN from CP Kehinde Longe.
- AMMBAN OSUN STATE played a vital role in AMMBAN National Conference & Election in Abuja 2023 with our vibrant presence and active participation.
- AMMBAN OSUN received a special Recognition from Osun State Government through the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives and was granted slots for Federal Government MSME Grant in December, 2023.
- AMMBAN OSUN STATE was also recognised by Honourable Member, House of Representatives, Abuja; Honourable Maruf Adewale Gangaria representing Osogbo Federal Constituency in Abuja with handsome gift.”
AMMBAN added that it’s looking forward to more partnerships and collaborations in the year 2024 towards progress and prosperity of the state.
