Oba Operinmade made the statement while addressing journalists at a Press Conference at his palace on Saturday, noting that the installation of another king on Lola’s land cannot stand, while assuring the people Koka-Ijesa to be united and law-abiding under his reign.

It should be recalled that, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Larooye II (The Ataoja of Osogbo) on Friday 4th of September, 2026 installed the new Onikoka of Koka-Ogbnse as one of the kings under his territory.

However, Oba Operinmade further acknowledge the action of the Ataoja of Osogbo as another way to wrestle power with the state government who is in the position of authority to install monarchs.

He express his confidence in the administration of governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, stressing that the Osun State governoment approved his installation as the King of Koka-Ijesa on the 29th February, 2026.

While reacting, the Alase of Ilase-Ìjèsà, HRM, Oba Jimoh Isiaka also reaffirmed the authenticity of Oba Operinmade as Onikoka of Koka-Ijesa, noting that the Ataoja of Osogbo had in the year 2022 claimed he had no knowledge of the story linking Osogbo to the Koka town as claimed by some of his subjects who petitioned Ilase-Ìjèsà over the territory of the area.

The Alase then made it clear that the Osun State Government has all the documents that confirmed Koka-Ijesa as part of Ilase-Ìjèsà in Obokun Local Government Area of the state.

He therefore called on the monarchs in the state under the leadership of his Imperial Majesty Oba Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, Oni of Ile Ife and Governor Ademola Adeleke to Intervene.
