The Gbenga Hashim Solidarity Movement (GHSM) has escalated its grassroots engagement across Northern Nigeria, intensifying mobilisation activities in Kaduna State as part of its strategic build-up to the 2027 general elections.
Addressing local mobilisation structures during a stakeholders’ engagement in Kaduna, the Chief of Staff to Dr. Gbenga Hashim, Mr. Kamal Sani, described the movement as cohesive, purpose-driven, and steadily gaining national traction. He expressed confidence that the quality of leadership within the movement, coupled with what he described as providential backing, positions it to play a consequential role in shaping Nigeria’s future.
Sani portrayed Dr. Gbenga Hashim as a unifying national figure with a proven track record in politics and business, noting that his broad cross-regional and cross-faith relationships uniquely equip him to promote national cohesion, inclusive development, and collective progress.
Also speaking, the Chief Press Secretary to Dr. Hashim, Mr. Hassan Ibrahim, underscored the need for message discipline, coordinated outreach, and consistency as the movement expands nationwide. He stressed that structured grassroots engagement remains a critical pillar for building broad-based consensus ahead of 2027.
The National Coordinator of GHSM, Mr. Abdulrazaq Hamzat, reiterated the organisation’s commitment to sustained grassroots mobilisation, which he described as essential to safeguarding Nigeria’s democratic future. He explained that the Kaduna visit formed part of an ongoing nationwide consultation process aimed at reviewing state-level operations and reinforcing focus amid the current political environment.
Hamzat disclosed that the movement has successfully established multiple mobilisation platforms across the country, with Kaduna State alone hosting four active groups spread across several local government areas. According to him, these solidarity structures are aligned around a shared national vision anchored on good governance and national renewal.
“Our message as we approach the 2027 elections is unequivocal: Nigerians must take ownership of the responsibility to protect the country from poor leadership and systemic misgovernance,” Hamzat stated, affirming the movement’s resolve to sustain nationwide mobilisation.
In his remarks, the Kaduna State Coordinator of GHSM, Comrade Ahmed Sabo Jimeta, commended the dedication of grassroots organisers, highlighting the critical role played by both women and men in sustaining the movement’s momentum. He noted that the depth of commitment across the state reflects strong unity of purpose and reinforces support for Dr. Hashim’s presidential ambition.
In a related development, another pro-Hashim platform, the GOH Front, led by Mr. Muhammad Aliyu Kacham, urged coordinators across Kaduna’s 23 local government areas to intensify mobilisation efforts in support of Dr. Hashim’s aspiration.
The one-day mobilisation event drew a large turnout of supporters, many of whom paid glowing tributes to the Kebbi-born politician and international businessman. Prominent figures in attendance included Dr. Ibrahim Umar, Alhaji Muhammad Zanna, Alhaji Muhammad Danmaliki, Amina Ibrahim, among other notable stakeholders.
