The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), following the recent Supreme Court judgment has taken a decisive step to reinforce its internal structure and governance framework. At its 103rd National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, the party approved the appointment and inauguration of an Interim National Working Committee (INWC).

The decision, which secured the backing of a two-thirds majority of NEC members, underscores the party’s commitment to constitutional order and administrative stability. It also reflects a strategic effort to ensure continuity in leadership during a critical period.

The newly constituted INWC has been mandated to oversee the party’s executive functions with immediate effect. Its primary responsibility is to provide direction, maintain cohesion, and manage the day-to-day affairs of the PDP at the national level.

Heading the committee is Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, who assumes the role of Chairman, while Arapaja Taofeek Gbola-Oladejo has been appointed as Secretary. Both are expected to anchor the committee’s activities and coordinate its operations.

Other members of the INWC include Alhaji Hamza Akuyam Koshe, Dr. Daniel Ambrose Woyengikurom, Ihediwa Richard Nnabugwu, Isa Abubakar, and Okechukwu Obiechina Daniel. They are joined by Hon. Theophilus Dakas Shan, Comrade Ini Ememobong (mnipr), and Aribisala Adewale Idowu.

The committee is further strengthened by the inclusion of Bara’u Shafi’i, Ogbu Anthonia Chinenyenwa, and Hon. Umar Dan Aji, all of whom bring varied experience and perspectives to the interim leadership structure.

Party insiders suggest that the formation of the INWC is a calculated move to stabilise internal processes and reposition the PDP for greater organisational efficiency. It is also seen as a mechanism to manage ongoing transitions without disrupting party operations.

According to information gathered by Entrust Media News, the development is widely viewed as a significant step toward preserving unity and strengthening the structural integrity of the party as it navigates this transitional phase.
