Senator Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi, OFR, has congratulated the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, and the people of Ile-Ife on the celebration of the 2026 Olojo Festival.
Fadahunsi, who represents Osun East Senatorial District and chairs the Senate Committee on Industries, conveyed his goodwill in a statement issued on Saturday, September 26, 2026, by his Head of Media and Public Enlightenment, Omole Oluwasegun Omo-Osodi.
The senator, an indigene of Ilase-Ijesa, said he was delighted to join sons and daughters of Ile-Ife, both at home and in the diaspora, in celebrating an occasion he described as an important expression of Yoruba culture and heritage.
According to him, the Olojo Festival goes beyond the festivities, costumes and traditional ceremonies associated with it. He described it as a celebration of identity, unity and the enduring heritage of Ile-Ife, regarded as a historic cradle of Yoruba civilisation.
Fadahunsi said the annual festival also offers an opportunity for thanksgiving and renewal, while reminding the people of their shared history, cultural values and collective destiny.
He commended the Ooni for his efforts in preserving Yoruba traditions, promoting peace and supporting development in Ile-Ife and across Yorubaland.
The senator noted that the monarch’s leadership has continued to promote cultural pride while drawing greater attention to the richness of Yoruba heritage both within Nigeria and internationally.
As the 2026 celebration continues, Fadahunsi urged the people of Ile-Ife to remain peaceful and law-abiding, stressing the importance of unity, progress and respect for the values that bind the community together.
He prayed that this year’s festival would bring prosperity, harmony and divine blessings to Ile-Ife, Yorubaland, Osun State and Nigeria.
Fadahunsi also prayed for God’s guidance and protection throughout and after the celebrations, while expressing appreciation for the role of the Olojo Festival in preserving and promoting Yoruba cultural traditions.
He wished the Ooni a long, peaceful and successful reign on the throne of his ancestors, as he joined the people of Ile-Ife in marking the significant cultural occasion.
