A presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Gbenga Hashim, has paid a strategic solidarity visit to the Governor of Bauchi State and Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, Bala Mohammed, as part of ongoing high-level consultations aimed at consolidating cohesion within the party.
The engagement, which took place on Tuesday evening, formed part of broader stakeholder outreach efforts designed to reinforce internal alignment and foster constructive dialogue across key leadership blocs of the PDP.
Dr. Hashim was accompanied by Senator Zainab Kure, widow of the late former Governor of Niger State, Abdulkadir Kure, underscoring the symbolic and institutional significance of the visit.
During the discussions, Dr. Hashim expressed appreciation for Governor Mohammed’s commitment to democratic values and his sustained role in safeguarding multiparty governance amid political headwinds.
He emphasized the imperative of unity, reconciliation, and collective responsibility among party leaders and stakeholders, noting that strategic collaboration remains central to repositioning the PDP for enhanced competitiveness in future electoral cycles.
The meeting later broadened to include the party’s Deputy National Chairman, the Bauchi State PDP Chairman, and select members of the governor’s team, culminating in a joint photograph to mark the engagement.
