Movement projects over one million votes from Osun, with Lagos and Oyo expected to contribute 1.5 million combined

The Gbenga Hashim Solidarity Movement (GHSM) has set a target of more than three million votes for Accord Party presidential candidate, Dr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, across the South-West in the 2027 general election.

The movement’s South-West Coordinator, Alhaji Abass Olaniyi, disclosed the projection, expressing confidence in the group’s grassroots mobilisation strategy across the region’s six states.

According to Olaniyi, Osun State is expected to contribute more than one million votes, while Lagos and Oyo are projected to deliver a combined 1.5 million. Ogun, Ondo and Ekiti are expected to account for the remaining votes needed to meet the regional target.

He explained that the figures reflect GHSM’s internal assessment of its mobilisation prospects and its expectations for building support for Hashim ahead of the presidential election.

Olaniyi said the movement would intensify its engagement with community leaders, youth groups, political stakeholders and local organisations to broaden its reach and strengthen its presence across the South-West.

He placed particular emphasis on Osun, where the movement expects to attract substantial support despite political alignments involving state-level leaders. According to the projection, GHSM intends to appeal directly to voters and encourage them to make independent choices in the presidential election.

The target comes as political parties and support groups begin laying the groundwork for the 2027 general election. For GHSM, achieving the projected figures will depend on its ability to convert grassroots engagement into measurable electoral support across the region.

With more than three million votes as its stated ambition, the movement faces the task of building a coordinated mobilisation network across Osun, Lagos, Oyo, Ogun, Ondo and Ekiti. Its proposed strategy places community engagement and local political relationships at the centre of its efforts.

However, the figures remain GHSM’s projections and have not been independently verified. The actual outcome will depend on voters’ decisions, participation levels and the broader political dynamics ahead of the election.

Olaniyi maintained confidence in the movement’s plans, saying its focus would be on expanding its grassroots presence and mobilising support for Hashim and the Accord Party throughout the South-West as preparations for 2027 continue.
