Residents of Peace Highland Community in Arimoro, Ilesa West Local Government Area of Osun State, have received a boost to their electricity supply following the donation and energisation of a 500KVA transformer by Senator Adenigba Francis Fadahunsi, OFR.
Fadahunsi, who represents Osun East Senatorial District and chairs the Senate Committee on Industries, said the intervention was part of his efforts to improve living conditions, reduce poverty and provide infrastructure that would benefit residents across his senatorial district.
The development was disclosed in a statement made available on Sunday, October 4, 2026, by the senator’s media team.
Speaking on behalf of the lawmaker, his Head of Media and Public Enlightenment, Omole Olusegun Omo-Osodi, congratulated members of Peace Highland Community and commended them for what he described as their patience and commitment to good governance.
Omo-Osodi urged residents to take ownership of the transformer and protect it from damage and vandalism to ensure that it continues to serve the community.
«“Today, the 500KVA transformer has been energised for your use. Protect it and guard it as you would your personal property,” he told the residents.»
The senator’s representative also used the occasion to make a political appeal ahead of the January 16, 2027 elections. He urged residents to support candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC), specifically mentioning President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senator Fadahunsi and Hon. Emmanuel Olusanya Omirin.
The appeal was part of the political message delivered during the community engagement and reflected the position of Fadahunsi’s political camp.
Responding to the intervention, the Chairman of Peace Highland Community, Comrade Olatunde Sunday Fatunbarin, expressed appreciation to the senator for providing the transformer and ensuring its energisation.
Fatunbarin described the project as a significant contribution to the development and wellbeing of the community, while commending Fadahunsi for his attention to the needs of residents in Peace Highland and other parts of Osun East.
The transformer intervention adds to a number of electricity-related projects attributed to Fadahunsi across the senatorial district. His media office has previously listed Peace Highland Community among locations in Ilesa West that have benefited from transformer interventions.
For residents of Peace Highland Community, the immediate focus will now be on protecting the newly energised equipment and ensuring that the facility is properly maintained for sustained community use.
