The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has formally endorsed Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office ahead of the 2027 general elections. The decision was reached during a high-level stakeholders’ meeting held on February 14, 2026, in Osogbo.
Party leaders described the endorsement as a strategic affirmation of confidence in the President’s leadership and policy direction.
According to officials, the resolution was unanimously adopted by critical organs of the state chapter, reflecting internal alignment and consensus.
Speakers at the event emphasised the need for continuity in governance, arguing that ongoing economic and structural reforms require sustained political backing. They maintained that a second term would consolidate existing initiatives and provide policy stability.
The meeting also served as a platform for political realignment, as the Osun APC formally welcomed defectors from opposition parties into its ranks. Among those received were federal lawmakers who previously contested elections under the banner of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Party executives framed the defections as a reflection of growing confidence in the APC’s national agenda. They noted that the integration of new members would further strengthen the party’s legislative and grassroots structures within the state.
Leaders at the gathering underscored the importance of unity and cohesion as the political calendar advances. They called on members across local government areas to intensify mobilisation efforts in preparation for forthcoming electoral contests.
