As Olowu Kuta, OOPA Condole, Support Burial Arrangements

The Osun Online Publishers Association (OOPA), under the leadership of its chairman, Mukhtar Ajelogbon, on Thursday evening held a Special Valedictory Service and Candlelight Vigil in honour of its late former chairman, Adesoji Omosebi, publisher of SOJ Worldwide News, celebrating a life devoted to unity, service, and professional journalism.

The solemn event took place at the late publisher’s residence in Ogo-Oluwa, Osogbo, where colleagues, family members, neighbours, church members, and friends gathered to pay their respects and reflect on his enduring contributions to the media community.

Omosebi, who passed away on December 7, 2025, was widely remembered as a bridge builder whose leadership philosophy prioritised collaboration, inclusiveness, and collective progress over personal acclaim.

During the vigil, his son shared emotional testimonies from close associates, describing his father as a leader who believed that “winning alone was boring,” a principle that shaped his approach to both leadership and journalism.

In a brief exhortation, Apostle Henry Ojo charged members of OOPA to preserve and advance Omosebi’s legacy, noting that the late publisher intentionally built his media platform to transcend his lifetime as a tool for unity and truth. He also encouraged members to continue to support and remain close to the Omosebi family.

Speaking on behalf of the association, OOPA Chairman Mukhtar Ajelogbon announced a token financial contribution towards the burial arrangements as a demonstration of solidarity. He also conveyed the condolences and financial support of the association’s patron, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr) Adekunle Oyelude Makama (CON), the Olowu of Kuta, who sent a goodwill message and assistance to the family.

Meanwhile, the remain of Adesoji Omosebi is expected to be released from the morgue today, ahead of his final interment scheduled for Saturday, January 24, 2026, at his residence in Ibadan, Oyo State.

As the candlelight illuminated the night, a shared sentiment resonated among mourners: although Adesoji Omosebi has passed on, his ideals, vision, and commitment to a united and principled press community will continue to endure.
