…Adeleke Receives APC Leaders’ Appraisal while Targeting 2 Million Votes for President Tinubu

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has inaugurated the state chapter of the Tinubu Presidential Campaign Council, setting a target of two million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election.

The inauguration, held on Thursday, October 22, at the Oasis Event Centre in Osogbo, brought together prominent political figures, including leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as well as stakeholders from different political backgrounds.

The council, coordinated by Governor Adeleke, is expected to drive mobilisation and coordinate campaign activities across Osun State in support of President Tinubu’s re-election bid.

The event also featured commendations and political remarks from APC leaders, with the party’s National Secretary, Senator Dr Ajibola Basiru, among the prominent figures who addressed issues surrounding political leadership and seniority within the party.

The two-million-vote target represents the campaign council’s stated ambition for Osun State. Achieving it would depend on the council’s mobilisation strategy, engagement with voters and ability to coordinate its activities across the state’s political landscape.

Several notable political figures were associated with the inauguration, including former Osun State Governor Bisi Akande, former APC National Secretary Iyiola Omisore, Senator Ajibola Basiru, former senator Jide Omoworare and former senator Sola Adeyeye.

Other figures identified with the gathering included Titilayo Ponnle, Yinka Ajayi, Bola Oyebamiji and Akintunde Adegboye, among others.

The inauguration comes as political parties and their allies begin positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 presidential election. The council is expected to serve as a platform for coordinating campaign structures and reaching voters across Osun’s local government areas.

With the two-million-vote target now central to the council’s stated ambition, attention will turn to its subsequent activities, grassroots mobilisation and efforts to translate the political alliance into electoral support for President Tinubu.
